Manchester United moved a step closer to retaining their Premier League crown with a comfortable win over rivals Manchester City.

Cristiano Ronaldo gave the home side an 18th-minute lead when his deflected free-kick wrong-footed keeper Shay Given, who got a hand to the ball but couldn't keep it out.
Carlos Tevez hit the crossbar moments later before extending United's lead on the stroke of half time with a 20-yard shot that went in off the post.
Robinho missed a good chance to haul City back into the game when he shot wide from eight yards out.
