Middlesbrough 1-1 West Ham United

Match Reports, 17:40, November 1, 2008 ,

A late equaliser from Mido gained a deserved point for Middlesbrough, who responded well after being second best in the first period.

The Hammers went into the game on the back of four successive defeats, but did not look like a side low on confidence and took the lead after 21 minutes.
The visitors, who controlled the first-half, broke the deadlock through Hayden Mullins. The former Crystal Palace man latched onto a pull back from Luis Boa Morte and his shot from inside the box crashed off the underside of the crossbar and bounced into the back of the net.
Gareth Southgate made three changes at the break and these payed off as Middlesbrough turned the tables on the Hammers and dominated the second period.
It was one of the substitutes, Mido, who netted a sublime equaliser with a free-kick from the edge of the box after the striker himself had been felled by James Collins.
