Portsmouth 4-0 Wigan Athletic

Match Reports, 17:16, October 31, 2009 ,

A hat-trick by Aruna Dindane helped Portsmouth wrap up a vital 4-0 win over Wigan Athletic at Fratton Park.

The Ivory Cost international put the hosts one up after 35 minutes when he chipped the ball over Chris Kirkland.
Dindane's strike partner Frederic Piquionne then raced clear to double the lead on the stroke of half time.
Wigan should have pulled a goal back through Oliver Kapo but went further behind after 64 minutes when Dindane got his second, and Pompey's third, after good work by Nadir Belhadj.
The striker, on loan from Lens, completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot a minute from time after Emerson Boyce brought down Kanu in the box.
Portsmouth remain bottom of the table but the win has put them in touch with teams above them.
