Manchester City booked their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 4-2 win against Leicester City at Eastlands.
Carlos Tevez fired City ahead in their third-round replay with a stunning drive on 15 minutes, but the Foxes were level within four minutes when Paul Gallagher scored from the penalty spot after Patrick Vieira fouled Lloyd Dyer in the area. City virtually killed the game off with two quick goals late on in the first half when Vieira tapped in from close range on 37 minutes, before Adam Johnson coolly slotted past keeper Chris Weale when played through by David Silva's defence-splitting pass a minute later. Tevez spurned the opportunity to make it 4-1 on 58 minutes when his penalty was saved by Weale after the Argentine was felled in the area by Jack Hobbs. Dyer set up a tense finale when he pulled one back on 83 minutes, but Aleksander Kolarov's 25-yard effort in stoppage time secured City a fourth-round trip to Notts County. Wolves enjoyed a more comfortable evening in their third-round replay after running out 5-0 winners over Championship side Doncaster Rovers at Molineux. Steve Fletcher put Mick McCarthy's men in front after just five minutes in a fairly even first half. However the Premier League side stepped up a gear after the break and went 2-0 ahead on 61 minutes with Geoffrey Mujangi Bia scoring his first goal for the club. Kevin Doyle's effort on 66 went in off Rovers keeper Neil Sullivan's upright and Matt Jarvis swept home the fourth of the night on 74 minutes. David Jones capped off a five-star second-half performance in stoppage time to complete the rout. Wolves will face Stoke in the fourth round after they needed extra time to overcome Championship high-flyers Cardiff City 1-0 in South Wales. Jon Walters' brace on 92 and 115 minutes was enough to send Tony Pulis' men through in an otherwise forgettable game at the Cardiff City Stadium.
