Sunderland 1-0 Arsenal

Match Reports, 17:12, November 21, 2009 ,

Arsenal's 13-game unbeaten run came to an end at Sunderland after a 70th-minute Darren Bent winner.

The visitors were punished for failing to deal with an Andy Reid corner as England hopeful Bent poked home a loose ball from six yards out.
The Black Cats frustrated Arsene Wenger's side from start to finish and enjoyed the better of the opportunities with Steed Malbranque squandering a couple of shots in the first half.
Arsenal struggled to find an opening in the resilient Sunderland defence until the dying moments of the game but even substitutes Andrey Arshavin, Carlos Vela and Theo Walcott could not do enough to pull their side level.
