Ben Watson missed a second half spot kick as Wigan Athletic played out a goalless draw with Swansea City.
Swansea City picked up their first Premier League points at home to Wigan Athletic. The visitors hit the woodwork twice and missed a penalty in the second half but Swansea squandered chances of their own.
Scott Sinclair cut in off the left hand side after just nine minutes played but the winger dragged his shot wide of the near post from a tight angle.
Danny Graham might have opened the scoring on 14 minutes as he got on the end of a Nathan Dyer cross but the glancing header sailed wide of the mark.
Just before the break Victor Moses fed Franco Di Santo running into the right channel but he couldn't beat the Swansea keeper from the narrow angle.
With 20 minutes to play Wigan's Jordi Gomez teed himself up and lifted an audacious left-footed effort over Michael Vorm but the shot came back off the inside of the post.
Just three minutes later Victor Moses struck a fierce left-footed effort against the upright. The rebound fell to Gomez who was brought down in the box by Ashley Williams. The resulting penalty was taken by Ben Watson but the low effort was saved by Vorm diving to his right.
The goalless draw is Wigan's second consecutive draw against newly promoted opposition and earns Swansea City their first point in the Premier League.
