Didier Drogba missed an injury-time penalty for Chelsea as the points were shared in an entertaining clash at White Hart Lane.
Spurs were the bookies' favourites before the game but took the lead on 15 minutes against the run of play through Roman Pavlyuchenko.
The Russian finished brilliantly after some great work down the left-hand side by strike partner Jermain Defoe, who then produced a low shot to beat Petr Cech at his near post to put the home side ahead.
Chelsea dominated possession but weren't able to create many clear-cut chances, although Salomon Kalou did come close with a header from Florent Malouda's free-kick but his effort flashed just wide of the post.
The visitors continued to see a lot of the ball after the break but were poor in front of goal, Wilson Palacios forcing the best save out of Heurelho Gomes with a backward header that almost flew into his own net.
They eventually levelled on 70 minutes thanks to a little help from Gomes, who parried Drogba's left-foot volley into the net. It was a frantic end to the game with both sides going for the winner and Chelsea looked to have won it when they were awarded a penalty in the dying minutes when Gomes brought down Santos Ramires in the area.
The Spurs keeper redeemed himself however, palming away Drogba's spot-kick to ensure the game ended level.
The point sees Chelsea remain in fourth place while Spurs are sixth, level on points with Bolton.
Here are some betting tips from Betfair's tipsters:

Did any see the sky analysis with Andy Gray, it clearly shows that the ball hit Drogba on the arm and the referee was in a good position to see it so it should have been a free kick to Spurs, also if Gomes was stupid giving away a penalty like that, Spurs should have won 1-0
