Goals from Shane Long and Gareth McAuley saw unbeaten West Bromwich Albion to a solid 2-0 victory over Everton at the Hawthorns.

The visitors started brightly and had their first chance of the game inside the opening two minutes but Marouane Fellaini's snapshot flashed wide.
David Moyes' side were seeing plenty of the ball but chances were few and far between for them and Shane Long should have made them pay the ultimate price just after the half hour mark but his free header from six yards out cannoned back off the cross bar.
However, the Baggies returned for the second period with renewed vigour and the introduction of Peter Odemwingie seemed to be the catalyst for an improved display. The striker certainly played a major part in the opening goal as his blistering run and perfect cross gave strike partner Long a simple tap-in just after the hour.
Everton tried to come back but the Baggies defence stood firm and Ben Foster will rarely have as comfortable an afternoon as he did today. With just ten minutes left on the clock they put the game beyond Everton's reach when Gareth McAuley rose unopposed at the near post to power Chris Brunt's corner into the net.
The win moves the unbeaten Baggies into the top three at this early stage of the season but the defeat will give David Moyes a little food for thought.
