West Ham United remain bottom of the table after being held to a 1-1 draw at home to relegation rivals Blackburn Rovers.
Jason Roberts put Blackburn Rovers ahead early on but Thomas Hitzelsperger netted the crucial equaliser late on. The home side missed several chances in the second half and so remain bottom of the league.
The opening goal came on twelve minutes as a fine Blackburn move culminated in Brett Emerton crossing for Jason Roberts who tucked home from close range.
On the stroke of half time Carlton Cole stepped away from his man and fizzed the ball across goal for Luis Boa Morte but the Portuguese couldn't apply the finish.
On fifty-seven minutes Christopher Samba almost doubled Blackburn's advantage. The centre-half bundled a Brett Emerton corner towards goal but 'keeper Rob Green made the low save.
Demba Ba had gone close with a header before Thomas Hitzelsperger rifled West Ham back on terms with ten minutes to play. The German striking a low shot from the left channel into the corner.
Robbie Keane might have scored the winner three minutes from time but he failed to find the net after reaching a low square ball from Frederic Piquionne.
The result means Blackburn move a point closer to survival, four points above the drop zone, while West Ham remain three points from safety and rock bottom of the Premier League.
