West Ham United 2-2 Fulham
Match Reports, 17:14, October 4, 2009 ,
West Ham substitute Junior Stanislas came off the bench to earn a point for his side with a deflected 90th-minute goal.
It was harsh on Roy Hodgson's Fulham side who had came from behind to lead, despite being reduced to ten men in the first half and for much of the second half they looked the more likely team to add to the scoring.
West Ham had taken the lead on the quarter-hour mark when Alessandro Diamanti's free-kick from the right was headed home by Carlton Cole.
The goal was against the run of play, but it sparked West Ham into life and they begin to get a firm grip of the game.
With just seven minutes of the half remaining the match seemed to turn even further in the home side's favour when Kagisho Dikgacoi was sent off for raising his hands at Scott Parker off the ball.
The visitors rode their luck until the half-time whistle and it looked as though West Ham were set for a comfortable victory.
Within seconds of the re-start the game was turned on its head. Matthew Upson brought down Diomansy Kamara inside the area and Danny Murphy stepped up to send Robert Green the wrong way and restore parity for the visitors.
Ten minutes later the Cottagers were in the lead. Konchesky's 20-yard deflected free-kick almost wrong-footed Green, who was forced into a good save, but from the resulting corner Gera volleyed home and from there it was West Ham who looked a man short as they huffed and puffed for an equaliser without really threatening.
But Stanislas ensured a share of the spoils for the Hammers with his last-minute strike, a result which does little for either side who have both started the season in disappointing form.
