Wigan Athletic 1-1 Fulham

Match Reports, 17:17, November 8, 2009 ,

Mark Schwarzer was the hero for Fulham as they managed to hold on for a draw against a rampant Wigan at the DW Stadium.

After a cagey opening, Wigan opened the scoring in the 13th minute through Emerson Boyce. Erik Edman's cross found Paul Scharner who headed the ball down allowing Boyce to slam the ball into the Fulham goal.
Wigan dominated after taking the lead but Fulham managed to draw level in the dying stages of the first half. With five minutes until the interval Titus Bramble clumsily brought down Clint Dempsey inside the Wigan penalty area, the American stepped up himself to send the spot-kick beyond Chris Kirkland.
The home side dominated proceedings in the second-half but despite great chances for Hugo Rodallega and Chalres N'Zogbia, they couldn't find a way past the outstanding Schwarzer as Fulham secured a point on their travels.
