Wigan Athletic 1-1 Norwich City
Norwich earned a hard fought point against Wigan Athletic after a Wes Hoolahan goal levelled the score following a Ben Watson penalty.
It was a scrappy start to the game at the DW Stadium, as the Canaries looked the better side in the opening stages but failed to create any real chances.
However it was the home side that took the lead on 21 minutes after Franco Di Santo was brought down in the box by Norwich defender Ritchie De Laet.
It was Ben Watson who stepped up and slotted the ball home from the spot to give the Latics the lead.
Wigan looked like they would be taking the lead into the break but just before half-time goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi spilled the ball which fell to Wes Hoolahan who buried the ball, to score the first goal for the Canaries on their long awaited return to the Premier League.
The second-half continued to be a scrappy affair with limited chances for both sides.
Hugo Rodallega had a great chance to give Wigan a winner in the dying moments but his shot was well blocked by the sturdy Canaries defence.
That was the last real chance of the game and it ended with the scores level at a goal a piece at the final whistle.
