Emmerson Boyce scored three minutes from time as Wigan came from behind to beat West Brom and register a second win in a week.
There was not much action the the first half. Henri Camara had the only real chance on six minutes when he stabed the ball over from three yards after Titus Bramble had flicked on a corner.
West Brom started the second period much brighter and took the lead in the 48th minute when Ismael Miller stole the ball of Bramble and stroked the ball past Chris Kirkland.
The Latics had Kirkland to thank for keeping them in the game in the 51st minute when he made a great one-on-one save from Baggies striker James Morrison.
Minutes later though Wigan were level when a long ball by Taylor was missed by the West Brom defence and Henri Camara stole in to grab his second goal in as many games.
West Brom continued to hit Wigan on the counter attack and would have taken the lead had it not been for two world class saves by Kirkland. Firstly Jonas Olsson rose highest at a corner but his header was kept out at point blank range by the England man. Jonathan Greening then fired a shot through a crowd of players but again Kirkland kept it out.
Three minutes from time the Baggies were hit with a sucker punch as Emmerson Boyce met Jason Koumas' corner to head the winner on his return to the side from suspension.
The win lifts Steve Bruce's side into the top half of the table, the Baggies meanwhile stay rooted to the bottom after a 10th defeat of the campaign.
