Wolverhampton Wanderers 0-1 Birmingham City
Match Reports, 14:36, November 29, 2009 ,
Lee Bowyer's early goal was enough to secure Birmingham a 1-0 win over Wolves in the Black Country derby.
The former England midfielder rolled back the years to chip Marcus Hahnemann from outside the box in the second minute after good approach work by Sebastian Larsson.
He also scored City's winner in their last game against Fulham a week ago.
The Blues had several chances to extend their lead but Christian Benitez, James McFadden and Cameron Jerome were all denied by Hahnemann.
It wasn't until the 75th minute that Wolves managed a shot of their own on target but visiting goalkeeper Joe Hart was equal to the task of keeping out Matthew Jarvis' strike.
The win moves Alex McLeish's side up to eleventh in the Premier League, while Wolves remain second-bottom.
