Wolverhampton Wanderers 0-2 West Ham United
Match Reports, 17:19, August 15, 2009 ,
West Ham took three points from Molineux with Mark Noble and Mathew Upson netting for the Hammers.
Gianfranco Zola's shortage of attacking options was not apparent as Noble opened the scoring for the visitors after 22 minutes with a sublime strike from outside the box.
Skipper Upson doubled the tally on the other side of half-time with a close range header from a Noble corner.
Despite the defeat Wolves boss Mick McCarthy can take encouragement from his side's performance and in particular the impressive debutant Nenad Milijas who caught the eye on several occasions.
