Murray suffers semi-final heartache

Men's Tennis, 18:36, July 2, 2010 ,

World number one Rafael Nadal has beaten British hopeful Andy Murray 4-6 6-7 (6-8) 4-6 to set up a Wimbledon final with Tomas Berdych.

The Spanish star secured a straight sets victory over Murray on Centre Court but it wasn't a straightforward affair for the 2008 champion.
The opening set appeared an evenly contested battle, with both players holding serve, until Murray lost his serve at 4-5 to hand Nadal the opening set 4-6.
Nothing could separate the two players in the second set and it went to a tie break, with Nadal securing a 6-8 victory. However, Nadal rode his luck during the tie-break with Murray failing to take advantage of a crucial set-point, while the Spaniard saw one of his shots hit the top of the net before dropping over to give Murray no chance to return.
Murray managed to break Nadal's serve in the Spaniard's first service game of the third and final set, but the world number-one fought back and secured a break of his own before taking the final set 4-6.
Nadal will face Czech star Tomas Berdych in the SW19 final on Sunday after Berdych overcame Novak Djokovic earlier today.
