Armband suits Wheater
Middlesbrough, 14:11, September 8, 2009 ,
Middlesbrough defender David Wheater is hoping to keep the skipper's armband for the visit of Ipswich this weekend.
The Redcar born defender was handed the armband for the trip to Bristol City last time out and, in the absence of injured club skipper Emanuel Pogatetz, hopes to continue this weekend in front of the home crowd against Ipswich.
"It is brilliant," he said. "It means a lot to me. It was my boyhood dream even just to play for Middlesbrough so to be captain is amazing for me and for my family."
