Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray has admitted the left-back spot in his team is up for grabs following Joe Bennett's departure for Aston Villa.

The England Under-21 international had made the position his own but his move to Villa Park means there is a vacancy which will be filled from within the ranks.
Mowbray told the club's official website: "We signed George Friend a couple of weeks ago for £100,000 from Doncaster Rovers and he's performed to a high standard and shown his qualities.
"Let's hope he can do that for the rest of the season. But we also have the likes of Julio Arca, Adam Reach and Justin Hoyte who can play at left-back, while Andy Halliday has done exceptionally well in that position for us.
"Joe had that position nailed down for a few years and one of the contenders has to find some consistency in the weeks and months to come.
"There's an opportunity for someone at the club to take."
