Middlesbrough, 15:19, July 30, 2009 ,

Gareth Southgate has confirmed Stuttgart's interest in Tuncay, while claiming reports of a Boro swoop for Jay O'Shea are premature.

The Middlesbrough manager has spoken out following another week of speculation surrounding players coming into the Riverside and others leaving for pastures new. And, Southgate did admit that German Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart have expressed an interest in Boro's Turkish international star Tuncay, following earlier reports of an imminent £9million bid.
"I believe there's some interest there but we haven't had an offer as such," he told the Evening Gazette.
Meanwhile it was reported that Galway United's 20-year-old Republic of Ireland Under-21 winger, O'Shea, is all set to join the Teessiders.
However Southgate added: "He's a player we've had a look at but at the moment our priority is players who are going to go straight into our first team.
"Our reports are good on him but it's not something we are able to do at the moment."
Meanwhile Southgate revealed 'nothing has changed' with regards to strike duo Mido and Afonso Alves, who he also expects will depart the club.
