Boro face Emnes injury worry

Middlesbrough, 12:48, January 14, 2009 ,

Middlesbrough have a fresh injury worry after Dutch striker Marvin Emnes suffered a knock in the reserves clash with Grimsby.

The £3.2million summer signing from Sparta Rotterdam had to be helped off the field following a collision with Mariners keeper Gary Montgomery during the 1-1 second-string's League Cup draw on Tuesday afternoon.
It is not known the full extent of the damage done to Emnes as the club are awaiting the results of an assessment on the player at Rockliffe Park on Wednesday before disclosing more details.
Boro's on-loan Slovakian teenager Peter Gal-Andrezly made his club debut in the game, while Wales Under-21 international defender Rhys Williams successfully made his comeback from knee surgery.
Boro's goal came from young midfielder Kieran Edwards midway through the second half after Nathan Porritt had a 30th minute penalty saved. However Grimsby earned a draw when Danny North scored late in the game.
