Boss boosted by returning stars

Middlesbrough, 12:05, October 27, 2008 ,

Middlesbrough are set for a boost on the injury front as Julio Arca and Mido could return to the squad to face Manchester City.

Argentine midfielder Arca has shown no adverse reaction to a return to training with the first team and appears to have finally overcome the ankle injury which has kept him out all season. He could now return on Wednesday night when City visit the Riverside.
Striker Mido is also on the verge of a return to action as he is expected to have shaken off his groin problem in time to be considered for a place in the squad.
Boss Gareth Southgate told the Gazette: "Julio has been progressing well and hopefully he will be able to join us this week.
"Mido felt some stiffness in his groin at Blackburn and so we decided not to risk him.
"There's a good chance he will be okay in mid-week.
"It makes a big difference to have players of this calibre available."
