Fight on for midfielder

Gareth Southgate is in a fight with West Brom to land Swansea's impressive Dutch midfielder Ferrie Bodde in January.
Southgate is said to have monitored the Dutchman's performances in the Championship where he appears to have continued the form he showed last season in League One which made him a hot property in the summer.
Derby were desperate to land the player Swansea paid just £80,000 for in 2007 but despite protracted efforts he ended up staying in South Wales where he signed a new improved deal.
Swansea's desire to keep the player is set to be tested even further as Southgate and Mowbray are apparently ready to offer £2.5m for the 26-year-old, Den Haag have a reported sell on clause which sees them receive 50% of any fee Swansea receive for the player.
