Late test for skipper
Middlesbrough, 12:08, January 23, 2009 ,
Gareth Southgate will give Emmanuel Pogatetz until the last minute to recover from his injury in time to play against Wolves.
The Boro skipper missed the defeat to West Brom with a hamstring strain and will face a late test to see if he is fit for the clash with the Championship high flyers.
Julio Arca will not make the side as he has not recovered from his injury nor will the suspended suspended Didier Digard, while there is no place in the side for Gary O'Neill which fuels rumours he will be on his way out of the club this month.
Despite repeated denials that he is to be sold O'Neill was left out of the third round FA Cup clash with Barrow and he is now to miss the fourth round tie, that means he is not cup tied increasing his value to prospective buyers.
Elsewhere, Gareth Southgate will resist the temptation to rest some of his experienced players and go with the strongest side he can put out.
