No more red days for Boro ace
Middlesbrough, 11:48, October 23, 2008 ,
Skipper Emanuel Pogatetz is determined not to pick up any more red cards as he looks to help Boro bounce back from the Chelsea mauling.
The Austria international has missed the last three games due to suspension following his sending off in the 3-1 Carling Cup defeat at Manchester United last month. And the defender is now ready to return to the fold at Blackburn on Saturday aiming to get Middlesbrough back on track after the dismal 5-0 defeat to Chelsea at the Riverside last weekend.
Pogatetz told the Evening Gazette: "It is hard when you have to miss games because you are injured but it is harder when you have been suspended because of a red card.
"I want to help the team as much as possible and if I am to do that I have to be on the field.
"I have to try to avoid it happening again in the future because I want to play every week."
Pogatetz did manage to play two World Cup qualifiers for his country in the middle of his suspension so he will be raring to go at Ewood Park as the players look for a positive response to the last game.
He added: "The pride of the players has been hurt. But we have a lot of characters in the dressing room and we want to win our pride back.
"That's why we have to make sure that we get something out of the game at Blackburn. There has to be a reaction and I think there will be."
