Striker battle on cards

Middlesbrough, 17:05, October 22, 2008 ,

Everton and Middlesbrough are to battle it out for the services of NAC Breda striker Matthew Amoah, who is open to a Premiership move.

Amoah is earning rave reviews in Holland after helping NAC Breda to the top of the Eredivisie and both Everton and Boro have sent scouts to watch him in action.
The striker is top of the goalscoring charts with 10 goals in 10 games this season and it is no surprise that clubs from the Premiership are showing an interest.
Amoah says he is aware of the interest from both clubs and admits he would jump at the chance of a move to the Premiership.
"Who is not looking to play in the Premier League," Amoah told skysports. "All top players want to move to England - it is the best. I am waiting to here from my agent but I know there have been enquiries from two clubs, but they have to agree a price with my club.
"I am scoring, so people will be interested me."
