Turnbull future in doubt

Middlesbrough, 13:40, January 31, 2009 ,

Middlesbrough have made a take it or leave it contract offer to goalkeeper Ross Turnbull, according to manager Gareth Southgate.

The 24-year-old's current deal expires in the summer and having had a fine season for Boro so far the Teessiders are hopeful they can tie down Turnbull to a long-term deal.
The goalkeeper's performances this season have also attracted the attention of a number of Premier League sides and Southgate believes that the offer the club have made to Turnbull is reasonable enough to keep him at the Riverside.
"Ross has been terrific for us. I think we've made a very good offer and it's up to him. If he wants to sign it, brilliant, if he doesn't, that's his prerogative," Southgate told The Gazette.
