Abdou wins Lions gong

Jimmy Abdou has been named Millwall's player of the year.

The 27-year-old midfielder has shone during what has at times been a tough campaign for the Lions, making 44 appearances in all competitions. Frenchman Abdou has now established himself as a firm crowd favourite at The Den, having made 176 appearances since signing from Plymouth in 2008. "I'm very honoured to get the award, and very happy the fans chose me," he told the club's official website.
