Dons low on numbers

MK Dons go into their penultimate home game of the season against promotion-chasing Sheffield United with just 16 players available.

On-loan Celtic midfielder Paul Slane is back at his parent club receiving treatment for an ankle injury and defender Mathias Kouo-Doumbe will remain absent with the groin problem that has plagued him for the last three weeks. It means manager Karl Robinson will go with the same matchday squad for a third straight match. Defender Tom Flanagan, midfielders James O'Shea and Luke Chadwick and striker Jabo Ibehre are Robinson's only outfield options should he wish to make any changes. United can seal an immediate return to the npower Championship if they win at stadium:mk and city rivals Sheffield Wednesday lose at home to Carlisle. Meanwhile, the Dons need just two points from their remaining three matches to be guaranteed a play-off spot for the fourth time in six seasons.
