Brodie set for Shrimps bow

Richard Brodie is set to make his Morecambe debut at Blackpool in the first round of the Capital One Cup.

Brodie has agreed a six-month loan deal at the Globe Arena and could start alongside Kevin Ellison, who suffered with back problems last season but is now fit. Danny Carlton, Jordan Burrow and Jack Redshaw are other options in attack. Summer signings Robbie Threlfall and Andrew Wright will be hoping to start, with manager Jim Bentley having a fully-fit squad to choose from. The game will be the first competitive fixture between the Shrimps and their Lancashire neighbours. Bentley's men overcame Championship opposition in the form of Barnsley last season and his side will be hopeful of a repeat.
