Haining concern for Shrimps

Morecambe skipper Will Haining is the only injury doubt for boss Jim Bentley ahead of the npower League Two meeting with Port Vale.

Haining limped off 10 minutes from time in Tuesday night's 2-2 draw with York at the Globe Arena and, although Bentley stated he was withdrawn as a precaution, the centre-back will continue to be monitored. Should Haining fail to recover, Nick Fenton is ready to return to the starting line-up having missed the start of the season with a calf problem. Lewis Alessandra is available to play a fuller role against Vale having dropped to the bench due to a hamstring complaint of his own, while midfielder Andrew Wright is in a similar position having shaken off a knock picked up in the opening day win over Exeter.
