Brown to clarify Well future

Motherwell, 14:53, January 21, 2010 ,

Craig Brown is to hold talks with chairman John Boyle to determine his future at Motherwell in the next couple of days.

Brown was appointed as the interim manager at Fir Park Stadium on December 29 but he, or number two Archie Knox, still does not know how long he will be in charge at the club.
Boyle returned from holiday to see the Well exit the Active Nations Scottish Cup at the hands of Inverness on Monday, although the club had of course thumped Kilmarnock 3-0 two days earlier.
Brown now intends to sit down with the chairman to discover how long his future at the club will be.
"I have been asked by one or two media people 'I hear you are here until the end of the season'. Well, we haven't had a meeting," the former Scotland boss said.
"We are going to sit down with him in the next couple of days, he has said that. He did indicate that he wants to have a bite to eat with us and a chat.
"We'll get his feelings and he'll take our feelings on board and, as a result of that, there may be some short-term decision, if not long-term decision.
"He just needs to come in and see us or pick up the phone and have a chat, but he has business matters to deal with.
"I would have thought, if he is going to sack us, he would have come in to sack us."
