McGhee feels for Clarkson

Motherwell, 12:08, November 10, 2008 ,

Motherwell manager Mark McGhee felt the red card shown to David Clarkson in the 2-0 defeat by Celtic on Saturday was "harsh".

McGhee had no complaints about the defeat against his old club but had sympathy for Clarkson, who was sent off by referee Dougie McDonald for appearing to push substitute Paul Caddis in the face.
McGhee explained: "David Clarkson is not a lad who is deliberately going to do that and also, he is not stupid, he is not going to do that in front of the referee.
"He put his arm out to fend off the defender and unfortunately caught him. It was harsh."
