Well chief sets his sights high

Motherwell, 12:01, November 28, 2008 ,

Mark McGhee still feels his Motherwell playes have top-three SPL credentials as they look to bounce back with a win against Aberdeen.

The Well boss has spoken out this week to support his squad following their poorest display under his leadership in last weekend's 4-1 mauling against Hibernian at Fir Park.
And he is now calling on the players to show their true abilities in Saturday's clash against the Dons.
"I didn't need to look at the video as I had the whole game etched in my brain," McGhee told the Wishaw Press.
"We have lost other games by three goals but not in the manner that we did against Hibs.
"It is not some sort of crisis. It was only a week ago against Rangers that I felt we played some of the best football I have seen since I have been at the football club.
"But within a week or so we have had the two extremes and it is now a question of where we go from here."
Ahead of he Aberdeen game, Well sit in ninth position and are six points behind sixth-placed Dundee United with third-placed Hearts nine ahead.
McGhee added: "It is about the players having the desire to go and get third again and we have shown at times that they have that but they have also shown on Saturday that it is sometimes missing.
"But I believe in them and think it is there and overall I believe that they will show that they are capable of getting into the top six again.
"If we can get into the top six then that would be an achievement and we will see where that takes us."
