Ashley keen on Kenny comeback

Newcastle United, 12:30, September 22, 2008 ,

Newcastle owner Mike Ashley reportedly wants Kenny Dalglish back as manager amid claims up to 10 players want out.

Reports suggest Ashley has made former manager Dalglish his number one choice to succeed Kevin Keegan as Magpies boss as the off-field turmoil shows no signs of abating.
Dalglish was in charge of Newcastle between January 1997 and August 1998 but, despite leading them to the FA Cup Final, his time at St James' Park was never viewed as a success.
However, Ashley is believed to be ready to approach the Liverpool legend with a view to offering him a second spell in charge.
Meanwhile, further reports suggest up to 10 first-team players will seek to leave in the January transfer window to escape the uncertainty currently engulfing the club.
Michael Owen has been linked with a cut-price £4million move to Liverpool, Everton or Manchester United while experienced stars Damien Duff, Obafemi Martins, Nicky Butt, Shay Given, Joey Barton, Alan Smith and Shola Ameobi apparently all also want out.
