Campbell talks up move

Newcastle United, 10:32, November 19, 2009 ,

Sol Campbell has spoken of his desire to sign for Newcastle and hopes a deal can be pushed through next month.

Campbell is still registered to Notts County despite being released after just one game but he hopes to be available on a free transfer next month once he has put his case to a Football League hearing.
Newcastle are waiting to swoop after boss Chris Hughton confirmed his interest and now the player himself has suggested a move to St James' Park is on the cards.
"It [Newcastle] would be a great move for me," Campbell told Sky Sports News. "But who knows - hopefully people will sort things behind the scenes and I will get going and play football, which is all I want to do.
"I am training at Arsenal and keeping fit, which is the main thing and that is fantastic. I needed to train somewhere, Arsene [Wenger] has done me a great favour and you can't do any better than Arsenal."
