Fraser Forster insisted Champions League football was the key behind his decision to join Celtic from Newcastle on a four-year deal.
The 24-year-old goalkeeper has spent the past two seasons on loan at Parkhead, where he helped Neil Lennon's men win the 2011 Scottish Cup and the SPL title last term. There were reports that Forster was looking to join a Premier League club in England after being told he had no future at Newcastle. But, with European football on the agenda with the Hoops this coming season, Forster decided to return for a third spell in a £2million switch. "I want to win things as a team and improve as an individual and I think I will be able to do that at Celtic," he said. "It also gives me a great opportunity to play in the Champions League if we get through the qualifiers. I really enjoyed my time in Europe last season."
