Jlloyd Samuel is set to sign for Newcastle as soon as Bolton have wrapped up the signature of Marcos Alonso.
Samuel is reported to have already sorted a deal worth in the region of £30,000 a week after the two clubs agreed an undisclosed fee and the move will be rubber-stamped as soon as Bolton land Alonso.
Newcastle boss Chris Hughton has been chasing Samuel all summer but the move has been put on hold as Bolton struggled to wrap up a deal for the Real Madrid ace.
A deal for Alonso is now on the verge of going through and once Owen Coyle has got his replacement, Samuel will be allowed to move to St James' Park.
Newcastle are also keen on Andy O'Brien but again Coyle would want a replacement before letting the experienced defender move on.
