Defender deal wrapped up

Newcastle have completed the signing of Mike Williamson from Portsmouth and he could make his debut against Crystal Palace tonight.
The 26-year-old only joined Portsmouth in the summer from Watford but failed to make a single appearance for Pompey and will be hoping to make a bigger impact at St James' Park.
Williamson could get the nod to start against the Eagles while fellow new signing Wayne Routledge could also be in line for his debut after arriving from QPR.
Elsewhere, Shola Ameobi is touch and go after picking up a shoulder injury at the weekend but midfielder Nicky Butt has recovered from a calf problem and could return.
