Sheffield Wednesday defender Mark Beevers is being linked with a January move to Newcastle United.
The Magpies are on the look out for defensive reinforcements when the transfer window opens next month and could be ready to turn to Beevers if they miss out on Sheffield United defender Matt Kilgallon.
The Owls are keen to keep hold of the young defender even if he has failed to live up to expectations after bursting on to the scene but Newcastle look set to test their resolve with a January bid.
