Defender move ruled out

West Brom have ruled out the possibility of Abdoulaye Meite leaving after Newcastle were linked with a move.
The Ivory Coast defender revealed that clubs were interested in taking him on loan after he fell out of favour at the Hawthorns and the Magpies were said to be keen.
Chris Hughton is looking to strengthen his ranks further but his opposite number Roberto Di Matteo says the player is going nowhere.
Di Matteo told West Brom's official website: "That is just paper talk. He's been on the bench for the last two games and I have no reservations, if we need him, to put him in the squad."
