Duo face fitness fight

Newcastle are sweating over the fitness of Alan Smith and Shola Ameobi ahead of the Boxing Day clash with Sheffield Wednesday.
Smith picked up a leg injury against Middlesbrough on Sunday while goal hero Ameobi also damaged his ankle and both are now doubtful for the game against the Owls.
Neither injury is serious but with another big game coming up against Derby next Monday, boss Chris Hughton admits he is reluctant to take any risks with the duo.
"We know we've got a game two days later, and we'll have to make some big decisions," the boss revealed.
