Everton line up Newcastle defender

Everton are being linked with a move for Newcastle's Steven Taylor as the Joleon Lescott saga continues to rumble on.
Despite an angry exchange of accusations over the weekend over Lescott, City boss Mark Hughes looks likely to continue his pursuit of the player and in turn David Moyes is determined to keep him.
He said: "There is no deal, is there? And I have said often enough that Everton are not selling."
If Lescott does eventually leave, though, Moyes is said to be keen on Taylor who is expected to put in a transfer request at St James' Park early this week.
Moyes made it clear at the weekend that he has not finished his spending and would like to add a couple of players before the transfer window shuts in two weeks time.
