Newcastle winger Peter Lovenkrands has revealed his move to St James' Park has put the 'fun' back into his football.
The former Rangers player was released by German outfit Schalke last month after injury and loss of form meant first-team chances were limited.
He was quickly snapped up by the Magpies after a successful trial and the Dane has revealed his move to the North-East has made him enjoy his football again, depsite Newcastle's struggles at the wrong end of the Premier League table.
"It makes you miserable when you are not playing. It was difficult," he said.
"I now have that feeling of football is fun back in my body. People might laugh when I say I have rediscovered the fun side of the game here, given the ups and downs Newcastle have had, but it is true.
"We have a good set of lads. I am just so happy to be here, play football, get time on the pitch. My family is settled and I am enjoying it."
