Getafe star linked with switch
Newcastle are being linked with a move for Getafe midfielder Abdel Barrada, who will cost in the region of £9million.
Toon boss Alan Pardew is keen to bolster his midfield this summer and reports claim he is in the hunt to sign the France-born Moroccan star, who has been told he can leave Getafe at the right price. The 23-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid during the January transfer window but a move failed to materialise, while Newcastle and Everton are also said to be keen. Pardew is desperate to wrap up his first big-money deal of the summer and Barrada is said to be on his wanted list. Meanwhile, Pardew is expected to step up his attempts to sign long-term target Mathieu Debuchy this week after Lille said they had found his replacement. Newcastle will now up their bid for the 26-year-old after already failing with one bid of £4million, in the hope a deal can be pushed through sooner rather than later.
