Hughton boosted by star's return

Newcastle United, 12:46, October 23, 2009 ,

Newcastle will welcome back Fabricio Coloccini against Doncaster but the game has come too soon for Steven Taylor.

Coloccini is fit again following a groin injury and boss Chris Hughton is delighted to have him back as he attempts to plug his leaky defence, but Taylor is still a week away from returning following a hamstring injury.
"We've conceded goals, and, as a team, we have to take that on the chin," Hughton revealed. "What we do have in Danny Simpson is a great lad, and a full-back doing a great job for us at centre-half. There's no doubt about that.
"We've had injuries to two big players. Coloccini will be back Saturday, and we're hopeful Steven Taylor will be back for Sheffield United. That, of course, increases the squad again, and we've got to make sure, as we progress this season, we keep those players as fit as we can."
Nicky Butt has recovered from a bout of flu and will replace the suspended Alan Smith who serves a one-game ban after picking up five bookings.
