Keeper out on loan

Newcastle United, 14:11, November 20, 2008 ,

Newcastle's third-choice goalkeeper Tim Krul has left St James' on loan to join League One outfit Carlisle United.

Krul is highly rated by everyone at Newcastle but he has seen his first-team chances limited, with Shay Given and Steve Harper ahead of him in the pecking order.
Krul has made just one senior competitive appearance for United, which saw him keep a clean sheet in a 1-0 UEFA Cup win away to Serie A side Palmero in 2006.
The 20-year-old, who spent a spell on loan at Scottish side Falkirk last season, will spend an initial one month period at Brunton Park with the possibility of a further extension.
