KK wants to keep Milner

Newcastle United, 11:19, August 16, 2008 ,

Newcastle boss Kevin Keegan has told Aston Villa he will not sell James Milner amid speculation over a £7m bid for the midfielder.

Milner is set to be deployed in a central role this season and so is key to the Magpies' plans as they bid to compete further up the Premier League table.
Keegan will not entertain any interest in the 22-year-old and insists he has the full backing of owner Mike Ashley.
"The last player we will want to sell is James Milner, and I am talking about the owner (Mike Ashley) and myself, and I am sure he will not be leaving St James' Park," said Keegan.
Milner almost joined Villa in 2006 after a successful loan spell but has since returned to St James' Park and resurrected his career.
