Magpies recieve winger offers
Newcastle United, 10:37, August 29, 2008 ,
Aston Villa are understood to have made a £10m bid for James Milner after the Newcastle ace handed in a transfer request this week.
The Midlands club are the favourites to sign the former Leeds ace, although another Premier League club, believed to be either Liverpool or Everton, are also poised to make a move for the wideman.
Newcastle reportedly rejected an £8m offer for Milner earlier this summer and now Villa have reportedly upped their bid, to sign a player who has previously spent a loan spell at Villa Park.
Martin O'Neill was very coy over a possible deal for Milner when asked on Thursday evening, saying: "We are battling, we are really battling."
Kevin Keegan is keen to keep Milner but Newcastle may decide to cash in on a player, who cost them £3.6m when he joined from Leeds back in 2004.
