Magpies wait on Taylor

Newcastle will hand a late fitness test to Steven Taylor ahead of the Sheffield United clash but Fabricio Coloccini will return.

Taylor has been struggling with a hamstring injury that has forced him to miss the last three games but it was hoped he would return against the Blades this evening.
However boss Chris Hughton now says he is still doubtful and may have to wait until the Peterborough game this weekend before making his return to action.
"Steven will be assessed today," Hughton told the Gazette. "He's a doubt for us, and we'll have to wait until the last minute before making a decision. We've certainly got Fabricio Coloccini and Danny Simpson coming in, so we have options.
"Tamas (Kadar) comes into consideration, and he'll be on a high after playing against Doncaster last week."
