New boy hopes for start

Newcastle have signed Fabrice Pancrate on a free transfer and he could make his debut against Preston tonight.
The 29-year-old had been on trial with the Magpies after leaving Paris St Germain in the summer and boss Chris Hughton has decided to offer him a deal until the end of the season.
If he impresses between now and then there is every chance the winger could be offered something more long-term. Newcastle are now hoping to gain international clearance in time for him to be available at Deepdale tonight.
Elsewhere midfielder Jonas Gutierrez will be available again after recovering from a thigh injury but the game has come a bit too soon for Shola Ameobi.
